Our client is looking for a technically excellent, ambitious and enthusiastic Desktop Support Engineer to join the current team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the technical support team in a fast growing and dynamic IT support business.
Ther successful applicant will be self-driven and be able to use their own initiative to deliver outstanding results. Excellent communication skills are a must, as well as a desire to deliver great customer service.
You will use the latest support technology to provide outstanding service and deal with a wide variety of desktop and network related issues.
The role in a nutshell
- Taking and recording calls into the office
- Providing technical advice over the phone and on-site for desktop related issues
- Dealing with customer support requests plus system alarms/alerts according to priority
- Onsite customer visits to resolve problems
Experience & Knowledge needed
- PC hardware faultfinding and repair
- PC and laptop troubleshooting
- Hardware and software experience (fault diagnosis)
- Upgrading hardware
- Cloning drives, copying and backing-up data
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows operating systems
- LAN/WAN/Wifi/Internet networking maintenance and fault analysis/resolution
- ADSL/Cable/PSTN/ISDN
- TCP/IP / DNS
- Routers / VPN / Firewalls
- Active Directory
- Office 365 (User Admin, Exchange, Sharepoint)
- Apple Mac
